Description
Assembled from original components. An M 1867 helmet for enlisted men in Cuirassier Regiment No. 7, depot piece with a steel skull (tarnished, pitted, indentations). Ridged front visor and a rib on the back, the trim, rivets and fittings all made of brass. Screw-mounted outline of an eagle with Vaterland banner (no double perforation) on the front. Removable brass spike on a pointed oval, nickel-silver base (both are incorrect, old replacements, double perforation). Convex chinscales with leather underlay on screw-mounted geometric rosettes. The large state cockade in lacquered sheet iron at the side. Black leather liner (scuffed, minor tears). The unit stamp „7. K 1890" on the top of the rear visor rail. Also includes the breastplate (probably produced in Bavaria, circa 1842) with original linen lining, a deep shot strike mark next to the medial ridge. A crown stamped on the left edge, the right side stamped „AA 2252". Backplate (unlined, stamped „903" on the right) with brass shoulder straps on a leather backing and original waist belt. Moreover, a reservist painting (without glass) of Gefreiter Schröder in Cuirassier Regiment No. 3, circa 1900 (size of the frame 54 x 62.5 cm). Slightly damaged in places, old repairs, signs of wear and age.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
