Description

Sturdy, straight blade of biconvex cross-section (somewhat pitted and notched here and there), double-edged central point (slightly bent), the root stamped „C7" below a crown (Christian VII, 1766 - 1808) on the reverse and „BS" on the opposite side. Ostentatious brass basket hilt with a thumb ring on the reverse, the crowned state coat of arms in relief on the knuckle shield, spherical pommel, the grip covered in brown leather (scuffed) and wrapped with brass wire. Two kidney-shaped guard plates, the one on the obverse with the old number „568". Slightly damaged here and there, signs of age and use. Length 95 cm. The heavy cavalry sword in good condition.
