Description

The chariot ornament (conduit) shaped like a bust of the god Hercules. The lion skin (leonté) draped over the god's shoulders and knotted over his chest. Floral embellishment under the bust. Exquisite, closed green to bluish-green patina with differentiated areas of oxides of malachite and azurite. Provincial Roman sculpture with a whimsical, expressive overall impression. In outstanding condition. Mounted on a modern plastic base. Height of the bust 17 cm, including base 27 cm. CULTURAL ASSET.
