Description

Hard porcelain plate with floral decoration and central inscription “Hütte Dietrich Eckart”, reverse stamped "Albert & Lindner, Munich". Around 1938. Slight signs of use. Rare! The plate originates from the so-called "Göllhäusl" at Hinterbrand near the Obersalzberg, which during the Third Reich was known as the “Dietrich Eckart Hut.” The designation refers to a documented event in 1923, when Dietrich Eckart hid there from the police following the failed Hitler Putsch.

Provenance: Former U.S. requisitioned property from the Obersalzberg/Platterhof area; released during the return of the site to the Free State of Bavaria in 1995/96 via the Berchtesgaden tax authority’s property administration. Written provenance confirmation included.
