Description

Tombac shell with a beaded back, a riveted, beaded front shield, a riveted neck shield, German-silver mountings (unit markings “C.1.85” for the 1st Squadron of the Carabinieri Regiment), and round rivets. On the front, a silver-plated star with a coat of arms is screwed in place. Leather-lined convex scale chains attached to screwed-on geometric rosettes; on the right, the provincial cockade made of lacquered sheet iron (darkened, silver plating visible only in small remnants). At the top, a silver-plated base with four round-head screws and a removable smooth tombac tip. Well-preserved blackened leather lining (worn), the underside of the front visor painted green, the lower part of the neck visor covered in dark brown leather, the size stamp “57” at the crown of the helmet.
