Description

The double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section, lavishly etched, gilt and blued on both sides, the banner of allegiance on both sides, the manufacturer's stamp „C K Co." (Carl Kaiser, Solingen) at the root. Gilt brass knuckle-bow hilt with lavish relief decoration, a recumbent lion on the guard plate, lion's head pommel with two red glass eyes, mother-of-pearl grip scales, the appliquéd crown in a sun burst on the obverse. Black leather scabbard (some areas rubbed and re-blackened) with gilt brass mountings. Attached gold sword knot with crown. Signs of age and handling. Length 100 cm. Beautiful condition, consistent with its age, especially the blade.
