Description
Sturdy, double-edged back blade with a central ridged tip. Serrated spine, ricasso at the base. Sturdy iron crossguard, flattened on the underside. Round iron socket with four slots, the ribs perforated multiple times. Reinforced end, one rib with an additional spike. Each rib has a spike on its inner side. Band-jointed socket clamp with a waffled center and bayonet fitting for the socket spike. Socket and clamp each with a brass seam on one side. Knife somewhat stained, blade with occasional pitting, leather scabbard missing. Length 36.5 cm. Major Charles Blair Baldock, officer in the Indian Army, patented this knife on June 12, 1902, under patent number 8623.
