Description

Sturdy, slightly curved blade à la Montmorency (stained and pitted in places), trophies and tendrils etched in the upper section on both sides (remnants of gilding), including the inscriptions „VIVE LA LOI & L(A) LIBRE". Basket hilt in non-ferrous metal with lavish relief decoration, guard plate and openwork knuckle shield with the garnet symbol, lances, oak and laurel leaves. Grip with extremely fine copper wire winding, grip cap with lion's head pommel. The replaced black leather scabbard with smooth non-ferrous metal fittings, two movable suspension rings and frog stud. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age and wear. Length 93 cm. See Lhoste/Resek, Les Sabres, no. 632.
