Silber vergoldet, beidseitig farbig emailliert, mehrteilig gefertigt. Bewegliche, beidseitig grün emaillierte, kranzförmige Agraffe (kleine Chips), darüber im Scharnier fünf gefasste Diamanten (getestet). An Bandabschnitt (kleine Nadellöcher). Im nicht zugehörigen schwarzen Verleihungsetui. Trage- und Altersspuren. Breite 40 mm. Gestiftet durch Papst Gregor XVI. im Jahr 1831 zur Erinnerung an Papst Gregor des Großen.
