Description
Iron with silver inlays. The folding frame made of flat bars, these with narrow slots at the top, bottom and on the sides. On each side of the top, there are five ring fittings (some damaged) to accommodate continuous iron bars to fasten the seat. Partially rusted but mostly preserved geometric ornaments made of inlaid silver wire on the outer sides and cross struts. At the intersection, the frame is movably connected by a pin with a decorative button finial. The current leather cover is a modern replacement. The iron frame covered in reddish brown oxides, the inlays abraded in places and covered with oxide incrustation. However, the majority still clearly visible. Some of the ring fittings damaged. Dimensions 47 x 39 x 38 cm. The „sella castrensis" follows the tradition of the ancient Italian commander's insignia. It was customary among military authorities.
