A silver-mounted Ottoman shamshir with undulating edges, mid 19th century

Description

The strongly curved, undulating single-edged blade with a double-edged point and fullers on both sides. Finely ridged silver quillons with a long crosspiece, fine engraving on the edges. Riveted ebony grip plates (one knocked), silver engraved grip frame. The leather-covered wooden scabbard stitched with silver wire (one small loss to the leather), silver furniture with finely engraved and chased floral embellishment. Two silver suspension bars with movable suspension rings. Length 91 cm.
