Description

The strongly curved, single-edged blade forged of wootz-Damascus. Embellished with gold inlays, calligraphic cartouches and date 1247 (=1831) on both sides of the root. Finely engraved brass quillons with remnants of fire gilding. Light-coloured horn grip plates, the grip frame with remnants of gilding. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with decorative wire stitching. The gilt silver locket engraved and chased. The suspension bar and chape in fire-gilt brass. Length 81 cm.
