Description

Kräftige, leicht geschwungene Rückenklinge mit zweischneidiger Spitze und beidseitiger flacher Kehlung. Am Ansatz beidseitig schöne Ätzungen mit Schriftzügen "Nation / Vaincre ou Mourir", Trophäen, Ranken und stehender Figur mit gezogenem Schwert. Ergänztes eisernes Klappbügelgefäß (Mechanismus reparaturbedürftig), facettierte Griffkappe, schwarz belederte Hilze mit Kupferdrahtwicklung. Klinge stellenweise schartig, Oberflächen gedunkelt, teils rostig, Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren. Länge 85 cm.

Provenance: Aus rheinländischer Privatsammlung, in den 1970er - 90er Jahren im Kunsthandel erworben.
