Description

Fein geschnitzter Kopf aus einer Geweihgabel (seitlicher Spannungsriss) mit Darstellung einer Gruppe Hirsche unter Eichenbäumen. Deckel mit Silbermontierung (Scharnier gebrochen), darauf ein plastischer liegender Hund. Rohr aus Geweih mit Mundstück aus gedrechseltem Horn. Höhe des Kopfes 13 cm, Gesamtlänge 33 cm. Johann Leberecht Schulz (1774 - 1863), bekannter Elfenbein- und Hirschhornschnitzer, tätig in Meiningen. Hofkunstdrechsler des Herzogs Georg I. Während des Napoleonischen Krieges erhielten Blücher und Wellington von ihm gearbeitete patriotische Pfeifen als Geschenk.
