Description
Rectangular strongbox of fire-gilt brass and copper, the semi-circular feet a later addition. The edges decorated with openwork appliqués, the escutcheon at the front is missing. Hinged lid, keyhole cover and handle are missing. The blued lock mechanism incomplete, key missing. The bottom punched on the inside with small mark "M". All sides decorated with finely etched hunting scenes depicting hunters and dogs at a deer hunt. On the bottom depiction of a leaping hare. Dimensions 4.3 x 7.3 x 4.9 cm.Condition: II - III Questions about the lot?
