Description

Aquarell auf Papier. In weichen Brauntönen gehaltene Zeichnung des Forum Romanum mit dem Septimius-Severus-Bogen. Im Passepartout und einem Leistenrahmen aus Holz, hinter Glas. Maße des Bildes ca. 28 x 42,5 cm, Gesamtmaße 47 x 57 cm. Louise Joséphine Sarazin de Belmont (1790 - 1871) war eine anerkannte französische Landschaftsmalerin des 19. Jahrhunderts, bekannt für ihre detailreichen und lichtdurchfluteten, überwiegend italienischen Ansichten, die sie als Schülerin von Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes häufig en plein air schuf. Sie hatte ihre eigene Werkstatt und stellte regelmäßig im Pariser Salon aus, wofür sie einige Medaillen erhielt, darunter 1834 die Goldmedaille.
