Blued octagonal barrels rifled with eight grooves in 9.5 mm calibre, the patent breechblocks engraved with a floral design. On the barrel tops the etched signature "fp. H. Faure Le Page a Paris". The colour-case hardened percussion locks finely engraved with wine leaves. The walnut half stocks carved with vines and scrolling leaves and featuring fluted grips and en suite engraved iron furniture. Length of either pistol 43 cm. In original case of walnut wood, the lid with brass straps and engraved monogram “AI”. The interior lined with (heavily faded) purple velvet, the maker's logo embossed in gold on the inside of the lid.
