Description

A pair of cased percussion pistols by Devisme, Paris, circa 1850. Blued octagonal barrels with multi-groove rifling in calibre 11.5 mm with patent breechblocks and dovetail front sights. The patent breechblocks engraved with flowers and scrolling leaves with gold numbers "1" and "2", respectively. Percussion locks engraved with scrolling leaves, the florally engraved walnut half stocks with fluted butt stocks and en suite engraved iron furnitures. Length of either pistol 42.5 cm. In unassociated walnut case, the lid decorated with brass straps and ornaments. The interior lined with green velvet. The company logo "DEVISME A PARIS" embossed in gold on the inside of the lid. Comprehensive, nearly complete accessories (nipple box missing). Key included. Dimensions of case 48 x 25,5 x 8,5 cm.

The auction includes 726 lots and starts on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 5001 - 5727. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
