Description

Multi-stepped bronze barrel with beautiful age patina, smooth bore in 21 mm calibre. Lateral trunnions, the loops shaped like dolphins. Abundant ornamental bands in relief with three-dimensional mascarons and cherubs' heads amidst decorative tendrils. An escutcheon in relief at the breech, dated "1650", behind which a recessed vent hole. The monogram "WT" engraved on the underside. The breech section and cascabel with fine acanthus ornaments. Mounted on a well-replaced, 19th century oak gun carriage with delicate wrought-iron fittings. The splayed wheels with copper strap reinforcements. Length of barrel 46.5 cm, overall length 91 cm.
