Description

Dunkel getönte, geschnitzte Holzfigur, darstellend einen k.u.k. Standschützen. Der Sockel mit rs. Geschenkgravur zu seinem Geburtstag "Tiroler Standschütze - 30. November 1942" und seitlicher Künstlersignatur "O. Moroder Mayrhofen". Sichtlich beschädigt im unberührten Fundzustand. Höhe ca. 60 cm.
Otto Moroder (1894-1977) lernte in der Werkstatt seines Vater, Josef Moroder-Lusenberg, sein Handwerk. Kriegsbedingt viele vom Militär beinflusste Werke, u.a. 1916 das Relief „Tiroler Standschützen“, das dem Kaiser zu seinem Geburtstag überreicht wurde. 1977 erhielt er das Ehrenkreuz für Kunst und Wissenschaft der Republik Österreich.

The auction includes 608 lots and starts on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 2001 - 2608. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 Oct., 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
