Description

Mischtechnik auf Malkarton, darstellend die Schlossruine, rechts unten bez. "Schloss Ziegenberg - Hauptquartier OB-West - 1 Tag nach der Zerstörung - 19.3.1945 - Wilh. Wessel". Unter Glas gerahmt. Maße ca. 45 x 60 cm.
Rund um das Schloss Ziegenberg entstand 1940, nach den Plänen von Albert Speer, ein Bunkerkomplex, das Führerhauptquartier "Adlerhorst". Im Herbst 1944 war dort das Hauptquartier des Oberbefehlshabers West und Hitler "leitete" aus dem FHQ die Ardennenoffensive. Am 19.03.1945 wurde das Schloss durch amerikanische Jagdbomber zerstört.

The auction includes 608 lots and starts on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 2001 - 2608. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 Oct., 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
