Small card (93 x 144 mm), not pre-printed, with ink inscription and date in Hitler’s own hand: (tr.) "Munich 1 July 1927 – Dear Miss Moritz! From your kind letter I gather that you, too, have not forgotten the fortress prisoners. A certain 'dear friend' is particularly pleased about this and would like to express his thanks to you personally. I would also be delighted to be able to chat with you for an hour and would like to talk about one thing in particular that I strongly care about. If you, dear Miss Moritz, should come to Munich again some time, kindly send me a line! Yours sincerely Adolf Hitler".
Envelope addressed (tr.) "To Miss Betty Moritz – Landsberg a/Lech – penal institution – gate attendant’s building" in his own hand, Munich postmark of 2 July 1927, the imprint of the stamp visible on the reverse of the card.
Condition: II + Betty Moritz (1910 – 2003) was the daughter of the prison guard Valentin Moritz. Frequently visiting her father at Landsberg prison she made friends with inmate Hitler and the other November-putschists. Until well into the 1930ies Hitler kept sending her postcards and books, all of which had been kept in family hands until recently. Questions about the lot?
