391 minimally foxed pages, gilt edging on top and excellently preserved dust jacket with only minor damage to the edge. On the front flyleaf handwritten ink dedication by Hitler (tr.) "To Miss Betty Moritz, the little sunshine during the Landsberg days of confinement yours sincerely Adolf Hitler – Munich, 26 January 1926". In a slipcase.The first volume of "Mein Kampf" was published in July 1925 with an edition of 10,000 copies. At the turn of the year 1925/1926, i.e. one year before the first edition of volume 2 was published, further copies of volume 1 had to be printed. The item at hand is certainly one of the first copies from the second edition with dedication by
Hitler. In excellent condition.
Condition: I - II Betty Moritz (1910 – 2003) was the daughter of the prison guard Valentin Moritz. Frequently visiting her father at Landsberg prison she made friends with inmate Hitler and the other November-putschists. Until well into the 1930ies Hitler kept sending her postcards and books, all of which had been kept in family hands until recently. Questions about the lot?
