Description

Five cards in the format 14 x 9 cm, each with keywords in black ink written in Hitler’s own hand on one side and pagination "Ia, 1b, 2.,
3. und 4." on the upper right, originally written in ink and changed with red indelible pencil to "I" to "V", minimally stained.
The card that was probably inserted last as No. "I" starts with (tr.) "Nuremberg – celebration – 8 days – an experience for everyone [.] Sadness when it is over", after greeting the (tr.) "Old Guard" he points out the (tr.) "gigantic organisation" in (tr.) "village – town - !the whole of Germany!" and chooses the keyword (tr.) "labour" as the motto for the 1937 party congress. He continues to speak about idealism (it stands (tr.) "above all else" and (tr.) "that is what brought you to me") and heroism, thanks his (tr.) "fellow fighters" (tr. "I do not know all of you – but I know that without you I would not have succeeded") also for their sacrifices (tr. "sacrifices unite for ever") and finishes with (tr.) "We are the creators and witnesses of a new era" and expresses his (tr.) "joy about Nuremberg", their meeting place.
In his speech of 10 September 1937, Hitler actually used these keywords, although he occasionally changed their order or went into greater detail. For example, he elaborated on (tr.) "sadness when it is over" by saying (tr.) "when these days come to their close, we are all struck by a sadness; we are like children who are deprived of a great celebration.", and on the motto (tr.) "Reich Party Congress of Labour": (tr.) "Why such a slogan? After having liberated Germany within four years’ time, we have the right to rejoice in our labour!" Cf.
