Description
Octagonal, blued, fluted barrels with twelve-groove rifled bores in 11 mm calibre, the signature "Fni P Le Page Moutier a Paris" engraved on the top. Fine floral ornaments on the tangs and patent breechblocks, these inscribed "1" and "2". Front action locks, delicately engraved with leafy vines and blossoms, the signatures "F. P. Le Page Moutier" around the cocks. The stocks made of ebony with the engraver's stamp "JNI" in the barrel channels. Decorative tendrils carved in high relief. Fluted butt stocks and thumb plates in red gold with the crowned initials "G P". Iron furniture engraved en suite to the locks. Length 40 cm. One pistol with slight traces of rust on the barrel, the front sight broken. In a wooden case, lined in blue velvet, containing all accessories (the key has been lost). A monogram cartouche engraved with the crowned initials "G P". Le Page Moutier, son-in-law of (Jean André Prosper) Henri Lepage, took over his business in Paris in 1842.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
