Description

Black lacquered leather body (cracks in finish), rounded front visor; silver front visor trim; silver officer front plate of Prussian eagle attached by two screw posts; gilt convex chin scales with rosette side posts; Imperial Officer cockade; brown leather sweatband; officer black and silver field badge, mortar board leather separation on field badge edge. Size circa 55 cm. Cf. "Buyer's Guide for Headgear of The Imperial German Army circa 1914", James D. Turinetti, 2015-16 edition, pg. 6.
