Description
Depot piece. The skull and visor of coarse, black lacquered leather, the mortar board of black lacquered sheet iron, the visor trim of sheet iron. On the obverse, held by leather wedges, the finely embossed nickel-silver eagle mounted with star, leather chinstrap on button 91, imperial cockade of lacquered sheet iron on the right. The Prussian field sign for troopers fastened to the mortar board (small holes here and there), without lanyard toggle (the toggle was no longer attached after 1915). A well-preserved black leather flap lining on the inside, stamped "1 G.U.R. /1915" under one flap. Size approx. 55, slightly damaged in places, signs of wear and age.
