Description
Tall black leather body wrapped with fine black cloth and lined with a fine, golden shimmering fabric, the obverse of leather trimmed black cloth. The black patent leather top with fastening hooks for the wing. Applied to the obverse the silver regimental number 5, on the right a large silver reserve cross and a large field sign for Prussian officers (silver bullion cord and black velvet). Convex, leather-lined gilt brass chinscales on geometric rosettes. Fine black leather flap lining. Signs of wear and age. These mirliton caps were only worn by the Landwehr hussars between 1843 and 1866. Very rare and in exceptionally good condition.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
