Oil on cardboard and stretcher frame. A red-haired boy wearing a hat, white shirt, and green waistcoat, signed and dated on the right "Padua 1944". In gilt frame with light floral carvings. Dimensions of picture 29.5 x 24 cm, dimensions of frame 53.5 x 47.5 cm.Among Padua's most famous paintings are portraits of peasants, the city of Munich awarded him a prize for the best child portrait in 1938, and he was represented at the Great German Art Exhibitions with a total of eleven paintings of rural scenes, among them four portraits of peasant boys and girls.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
