Hermann Göring - a wooden chandelier from Haus Göring at the Obersalzberg

Description

Different types of wood, partially dark stained. Two hoops of different diameters made of four segments each and connected by four lamp holders with turned drip pans. The inner ends of the holders with eyelets for the robust rope suspension holding a turned and carved globe in the centre of the chandelier. The smaller upper hoop mounted with carved figures depicting a farmer, a craftsman (loss at the left foot), a soldier, and a scientist, the bigger lower hoop signed "W. Rehberger, Speyer". Electrification partially missing. Height (without suspension) ca. 55 cm, diameter ca. 120 cm.With a letter from the Kunstgewerbliche Werkstätten Hans Strecker in Munich from 1949 confirming that this chandelier was a custom work designed by Göring for Haus Göring at the Obersalzberg. It was sent to the workshop in early 1945 due to damages, but could not be returned because of the end of the war. Also a copy of the original invoice from 1940 over 235 RM (incl. delivery and assembly) which was signed by Göring himself.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
