Description
Porcelain, painted in colour with gilded details. Two-piece vase with a royal blue, glazed background. On an octagonal stand. A cartouche on the front with a delicately painted view of Kaiser Wilhelm Palace, its adjoining library and the equestrian monument of Frederick the Great, surrounded by a gold border. The imperial crown as the finial. Two handles on the sides in the shape of serpents with gold highlights. A fully sculptured leaf ornament on the base of the handle. The underside with the blue sceptre mark, the iron red imperial orb and "FOO" mark. The gilding rubbed. Dimensions 48 x 24 x 16 cm. The Palace was built by Carl Ferdinand Langhans between 1834 and 1837 as the residence of Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, subsequently Kaiser Wilhelm I (1861 - 1888).Condition: II Questions about the lot?
