Description

Ebony. Figure of a (Massai?) woman carved in one piece, the shorn head with expressive features, elaborate ear jewellery and broad necklace. Clad in a finely carved patterned garment with one shoulder and one breast exposed, carrying a calabash in her hand. The ankles are decorated with glass beads in red and white. On an irregularly shaped base of unprocessed wood. Height 237 cm. Attention: please get a shipping quote before bidding!
