Description

Öl auf Leinwand. Kleinformatiges Genrebild im Stil des 17. Jhdts. mit zwei tagsüber in der Taverne trinkenden Männern. Links unter der Kerze signiert "C. Duxa". Im stuckierten Holzrahmen, leicht berieben. Bildmaße 20 x 15 cm, gerahmt 31 x 26 cm. Carl Duxa (1871 - 1937) war ein österreichischer Maler mit Schwerpunkt auf bäuerlichem Familienleben, welches er besonders gerne in der niederländischen Manier malte. Carl war Mitglied des Wiener Künstlerhauses und erhielt 1912 den akademischen Dumba-Preis für Historienmaler.
