Description

No maker, forged steel straight blade, gilt brass hilt with eagle head pommel and knuckle bow of hoofed pattern, clamshell decorated with oakleaf branches and pinned silvered applied cypher of Emperor Wilhelm I, grip of white ivory with two gilt buttons, blade washer partially intact. Etched decorative floral and hunting game pattern on both sides of blade exhibiting age. Black leather scabbard seamed on reverse, complete with gilded brass fittings, upper with separate pocket containing small skinning knife with ivory handle. Lenth overall ca. 68 cm, blade 48 cm.
