Description
Iron skull (dark pitting) with gilt non-ferrous metal mounts (rubbed, dented). The helmet plate embossed with a grenade surrounded by laurel branches. The crest decorated on either side with a geometrical design, laurel décor and a Medusa mask at front, with black horsehair mane, red horsehair tuft ("marmouset") at top, and red feather side plume. Leather-lined chinscales on ornate leaf side-bosses. Front peak and neck guard with black leather lining, black leather flap lining. The back of the head stamped with the numbers "182" and "54". Partially damaged, signs of wear and age.Condition: II - Questions about the lot?
