Description

Black lacquered leather body; front visor with tan underlay, rear visor with red underlay, gilt: cross spike base, rear spine, front visor trim; gilt officer front plate of Hessian Lion with sword and encircled by wreath with two dated honour banners, attached by one screw posts and holes for two other missing screw posts; gilt rounded chin scales with rosette side posts; Imperial Officer and Hessian cockades; tan scalloped leather sweatband, no silk lining and black hair bush with gold fluted trichter (not Hessian); gilt Hessian spike.
