Cal. 8x57 IS, Nr. XX 1939, matching numbers. Good bore. Five shots. German proof marks. Receiver marked "crown / Spandau / 1917", imperial acceptance marks. Barrel and rear sight with acceptance marks Eagle/280. Arsenal reblued, spotted on receiver, barrel and magazine floor. Stock with matching number. Cleaning rod. Front sight guard. Lenght 110 cm. Catalogue update: this rifle was built in the Graudenz depot of Wehrkreis XX Danzig (Poland) from parts on stock, some new, some leftovers from the first World War. After the invasion of the Soviet Union the Germans pretty quickly ran short of everything a Landser could shoot with, from pistols and rifles to machine and sub-machine guns, so new production facilities were searched for. The various depots were one of them, and Graudenz, using the roman numerals XX as a prefix to the serial numbers on the guns they built, was one of the most active ones, with almost 10.000 rifles assembled, reworked, rebuilt. However, matching numbered specimens in good condition are very rare and much looked after, achieving 4 digit prices.
