Description

Cal. .45 ACP, Nr. 540326, bright bore. No modern proof marks. Production end of 1918/beginning of 1919. On the left hand side of slide patent markings, on the right hand side "Model of 1911 U.S. Army", the receiver marked "United States Property". Inspectors mark S/8 under a barely visible eagle's head. Original bluing with modertae traces of wear on the edges, a bit spotted on the front strap and the trigger guard, thin on the back strap. Safety and grip safety most likely heat re-blued. The barrel a later replacement by High-Standard (WW2 standard ordnance barrel), marked "HS" and "P". Original duo-tone magazine by Colt for seven rounds, the body with light traces of corrosion, cleaned, the magazine floor plate lightly sanded. Dark walnut grips with several dings and dents. Lanyard. Comes in a dark-brown holster by "Sears / 1917 / AK", a GI belt and a proper double-magazine pouch, holding one of the rare duo-tone magazines with a lanyard loop on the bottom and a Risdon-made WW2 magazine, that was made to look like a duo-tone magazine (stamped R on top of the magazine bottom).
