Round barrel of fine, wrapped Damascus steel with a distinct midrib. Smooth bore in 15 mm calibre. Silver "spider" front sights. The signature "Jo. Schifter" inlaid in silver on the barrel rib. Antique-style, silver-inlaid busts interspersed with interlaced strapwork (minor defects) at the breech, engraved tang. The finely engraved lock deeply etched in places with a depiction of allegorical figures and trophies. The signature repeated under the frizzen spring. The engraved cock cracked. Set trigger. The finely carved full stock in beautifully grained walnut with dark horn nose. A small tension crack between the lock plate and trigger, a restored fracture on the forearm, a minor repair on the left of the forearm. The furniture in fire-gilt brass, lavishly engraved and decorated in relief. Wooden ramrod with a dark horn tip.
