Three-shot barrel groups in 14 mm calibre, in patinated bronze. The middle barrel elongated, with a central vent hole. A continuous iron retainer around the muzzles. The profusely carved gun carriage with the original, partially gilt colouring of red and blue. Gadrooned decoration, palmette and tendril décor in relief, the royal coat of arms (fleur-de-lys) on the top. The wooden disc wheels possibly of later date. Length of each 72 cm.Wrought with exquisite workmanship, the saluting cannons from one of the Sun King's royal palaces were fired to welcome high-ranking personages or used during nocturnal firework displays.Condition: II - Questions about the lot?
