Description

Four pieces of silver eating utensils, the hallmarked knife blade and two-pronged fork connected to the silver handles by means of screw threads. Also includes a folding spoon with a gilt bowl and a small, silver marrow spoon. A gilt, oval spice box with four compartments. Also, a gilt drinking cup with punched, chequered décor. In the original, leather-covered case with three intact hook fasteners, the outside finely stippled. The spice box and spoons stamped with the Nuremberg hallmark and "flower" master's mark, presumably Wolfgang Rössler, master craftsman in 1682. The base of the drinking cup with assayer's mark, Nuremberg acceptance mark and master's mark "TR", presumably Thomas Ringler, master craftsman in 1661. Length of the knife 19 cm, height of the cup 9 cm, total height of the case 16.5 cm. Weight of the cup 166 g, silver weight of the other pieces 121 g. Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
