Cal. 6,5x57 R / .22 Hornet, Nr. 2448, Valid Suhl proof mark from 1942. Bright bores. Barrel length 60 cm. Machined barrel rib inscribed "W. Eblen, Stuttgart", standing rear sight and additional folding rear sight. Oak leaf engraving on barrel root. Double barrel hook lock-up with Kersten locking mechanism. Steel boxlock action with long side plates and profuse relief engravings. On the right chamois, on the left roe deer, on the bottom marmots. On the stock wrist a cocking slide for the smaller calibre barrel. Safety on the left side plate. Single trigger with set trigger. Horn trigger guard with finger hooks. Dark, horizontally grained buttstock with wide black buttcap. Length 36 cm. On the cheekpiece silver inlaid monogram framed by oak and pine branches, on the opposite side of the stock a roebuck. On the pistol grip an engraved steel grip cap inscribed (tr.) "To my faithful comrade Christmas 1942". Gold inlaid Christmas tree at centre. Forend and buttstock carved with a fine fishscale pattern. Mounted by way of a claw mount: a Zeiss Zielsechs scope. Lenses clear and unscratched. Overall length 101 cm. Matching leather covered wood case with brass mounts and matching key. Shoulder strap enclosed. Dimensions 73 x 26 x 9 cm. Overall excellently manufactured, old bergstutzen with untraceable historic background in very good condition.I - II Questions about the lot?
