A rare all-metal flintlock pistol, Cloeter, Mannheim, circa 1680/90

Description

Double-stepped barrel, octagonal then round, with smooth bore in 15 mm calibre. Finely engraved lock with signature "Cloeter à Mannheim". Iron butt with finely engraved decorative lines, on the right engraved medallion with warrior’s head. Inserted, original, iron ramrod. Length 49 cm.
Peter or Christian Cloeter, both recorded as gunsmiths in Mannheim with a joint workshop circa 1680.
