Description

Octagonal to round Spanish barrel with well-preserved, old finish. Smooth bore in 15.5 mm calibre. Silver spider front sight, over the breech two gold-lined barrel maker marks "G. Fernandez" and striding horse. Flintlock with deeply chiselled décor on gold base. On the lockplate a portrayal of Diana with hound and resting hunter. Hammer and frizzen lid with scrolling leaves. Slightly carved walnut half stock, fire gilt brass furniture deeply chiselled with figures in a hunting scene. Escutcheon with sovereign's portrait under crown, flanked by a hunting couple. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. Length 147 cm.
