Description

Heavy, octagonal, after chiselled baluster round and smooth barrel in 24 mm calibre. Stamped "C L P" at the breech and chiselled coat of arms of the Visconti family. Iron miquelet lock (cocking notch doesn't hold) with deeply chiselled mascaron on the lockplate and the reverse of the pan lid. Walnut full stock with hinged folding stock carved all-over with mascarons, animals, and floral ornaments. On the silver escutcheon the engraved coat of arms of the Visconti family with surrounding inscription "GOVERNATORE DI COMO". Iron trigger guard and belt hook of the side plate. Original wood ramrod with (damaged) horn tip. Length 74.5 cm.
