Description

Blued, octagonal barrel slightly indented in the middle, with eight-groove rifled bore in 14 mm calibre. Dovetailed sights with folding rear sight. Lock with semi-internal wheel, the lock plate with engraved hunting scene and signature "JC. Schneider à Goslar". Spring-loaded pan with release button. Elaborate mechanism with self-cocking action. Set trigger. Lightly carved walnut full stock with bone nose. Expert minor repairs near the tang and at the right forestock, cracked on the right below the lock. The lid of the patch box decorated with carved wild boar. Finely engraved and chiselled brass furniture with hunting décor, the side plate in the shape of a dragon. Replaced ramrod with bone tip. Length 110 cm.
Rare wheellock variant cocked by the movement of the hammer rather than with the applied wrench.
