Description

Bronze encolpion with large hinged suspension eyelet. On the obverse in frontal view a finely engraved figure of a saint in an adorant pose, inscribed Georgios on top. Stylised finial on the reverse. Hinged. The lower ring eyelet on the reverse is missing. Otherwise intact. 12 cm.

Provenance: Rhenish private collection.
