Sturdy, single-edged blade with fullers on both sides and decorative gilt etching on a stained, blued background on both sides, the signature of the bladesmith "Schimmelbusch u. Sohn in Solingen" at the root. The fire-gilt hilt lavishly decorated in relief, polished horn grip scales (the edges somewhat knocked). Black leather scabbard (scuffed) with raised, fire-gilt fittings of hunting motifs, the locket bearing the crowned royal Bavarian cipher "L", presumably for Ludwig I, and stamped "Stroblberger München" on the opposite side, two suspension rings with green leather hangers. Inserted by-knife, the blade somewhat stained, horn grip scales with minor imperfections. Attached gold sword knot, interwoven in green, with the cipher "L". Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Length 74 cm. Rare, distinguished edged weapon.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
