Description
Blade (Shōwa period, 1940–1945), *shinogi-zukuri* style, *chū-kissaki*, *sugu-hamon*; shows some signs of age and use. Brass *habaki*. *Nakago* with one *mekugi-ana* and the smith's signature “Ichihara Nagamitsu” (原長光); reverse side unsigned. *Shin-guntō* Model 1938 (Type 98) mountings, complete with officer's sword knot. *Tsuka* featuring *same* (ray skin) wrap, dark brown cord wrapping, and *menuki* depicting cherry blossoms (*sakura*). Cast brass *tsuba* in the characteristic *sakura* style. *Saya* with a single suspension ring (*ashi*), enclosed in a brown leather field cover.
