Description
Photo album and wartime memoirs covering the period from August 30, 1939, to June 14, 1945; contains numerous photographs showing the soldier in the black panzer uniform—including early shots wearing the panzer beret—as well as images of vehicles, scenes from the front, and other interesting photos. A total of over 180 photographs. The album is complemented by his wartime memoirs (a typewritten text accompanying the images), which he wrote in June 1945 while in a prisoner-of-war camp near Kufstein. The soldier served in units including Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion 7 (Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 7); this unit was attached to the 7th Panzer Division, known as the "Ghost Division" (Gespensterdivision). Shows signs of age and use, primarily on the cover.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
